In 2 days, the family is going to Minnesota to see Heather's family. Should be a fun trip. We have 7 days to relax and see some fun stuff.

So far we are going to a Twins game, probably going to the zoo, the Mall of America (again) and a family reunion.

So I've never really had Premium Movie channels. But yesterday Time Warner Cable threw Shotime, TMC and Cinemax in my face for only $5 a month...


I couldn't resist. I now have almost 20 channels and 3 of them are in HD. And the movies in HD look friggin great.

We also have the on-demand channels too so I guess I could catch up on Nurse Jackie and checkout that show WEEDS.

I'm in movie orgy overload...

Last night I saw part of a movie called Caffeine that had Connor Temple from Primeval in it. So I had to watch some of it. He is just such a cool actor.


and that's it for now. I'm going home at lunch to watch some more cool movies.

I was able to pick up Dino Jr's newest release FARM this weekend and it is such a great CD. J. Mascis is really one of the best guitarists of our generation.

He is in such greaet form on FARM that his solos will melt your mind.

So I just read this morning that Primeval was cancelled.  That just sickens me.  And frustrates me too.

Because I love this show. I just hope they still make a movie (as I had read somewhere else).

I'm taking Wednesday off...  just to do it.  I'm hoping to take my wife to a movie, or some type of date. We rarely go out alone, so I'm hoping she's up for it too.

and if worse comes to worse, I'll be cleaning the gutters of the house.  Blech!

Man it was good to get home last night. Southwest is one wacky airline.  It's not bad if its one flight at a time, but if you are waiting at the terminal and 3 gates are herding cattle at the same time...

Anyway, I made it home and before bed I watched Harper's Island and Primeval.  Good stuff.


Oh and I saw The Hangover on Sunday and laughed my ass off.

I'm going to Phoenix, AZ tomorrow on a business trip. "Business" is a special word because I check in on Saturday, but probably won't be doing anything until Sunday night.

What does that mean? I'm finally going to the movies on Sunday.

Turns out the Desert Ridge Marketplace is right down the road from my Hotel... 

And there is a movie theater there.  So What do I see... Star Trek?  Terminator?  Drag me to Hell? The Hangover?

Too many movies to see... and I can't see UP! because I'm seeing that with my wife later this month.

AKFG is such a great band.

The BBC show Primeval has now become my must-watch summer show. 

Of course I'm watching season 3 on BBC-America and I think season 2 eps on the Sci-Fi channel in HD.  But after giving it a chance, I'm liking the characters and the sort-of Buffy vibe I get from it. Plus its got the girl from S-Club 7 on it. AWESOME.

oh yeah, there are dinosaurs on this show too.

The Penguins lead the series 3-0.  The last game could be Tuesday unless the Hurricanes wake up from this nightmare.

ugh.

Somehow we survived BOSTON and now we start looking at the Eastern Conference Finals. The Canes play tonight in Game 1 versus the Penguins.  Staal brothers blah blah blah...  Crosby this... blah blah blah.

I just want the Canes to shut the Pens down fast and quick.  It could happen.

We went to pick strawberries on Saturday and we came home with a bucket full of them!  So what do you do with a bucket of strawberries?

You buy angelfood cake and whipped cream and ice cream and make strawberry shortcake!

Holy crap its good.  I've been eating it all weekend.

Nothing makes me happer than hearing two of my favorite J-artists work together.

I must say my wife was able to snag a copy of the Imagination Movers new CD soundtrack for season 1.  "For those about to Hop" is the first season soundtrack that is a Target Exclusive that came out yesterday.

It won't be available at other retailers until July. It won't even be available on the internet until July. So you must go to Target and hunt for it. Most stores are only getting 2 copies per store and the CD is an absolute gem if you can find it. Hint: Try the soundtrack section or there may be a kids music section.

Very good music from the Movers I must say and they had one of my favorite songs on the CD "Paint the Day Away".  My son was overly excited, but I think I was more excited than he was!

In an effort to add more carolina hurricane fun posts to my blog, I declare today to be a happy day as the Canes tied up the 2nd round hockey playoff series 1-1.

Hurricanes looked pretty good last night. Cam Ward was astounding with a shutout against the Bruins 3 to 0.

LaRose is an amazing force on our team and I hope we can resign him next year!

Well the Hurricanes surprised the world and beat the New Jersey Devils in Game 7 of the first round playoffs...


our next opponent? the Boston Bruins.

This one is going to be even Tougher.  And I need to sell a kidney to get tickets to one of the games.
